Personal
Info My name is Martin Lewis. I'm 33 years old and live with my partner of 15 years, Angela and two children, Craig (13) and Lana (7). I was born and bred in the west Wales town of Pembroke and now live in Neyland which is where Angela is from and only a couple of |
| miles
from Pembroke. I attended Bush Comprehensive school in Pembroke and left in 1987 to join
the Royal Corps of Signals After Basic training (11th Signal Regiment, Catterick) &
trade training (Comms & Sy Group, Loughborough) I was posted to 9th Signal Regiment in
Cyprus. I left the Army in 1989 and started working on rigs offshore in 1990 as a Radio
Operator. I spent my first 4 years working with Rowan Drilling on various rigs offshore
Great Yarmouth, England, then after a couple of short term jobs offshore Aberdeen,
Scotland I settled for another 4 years on the Transocean 'Kan Tan 4'. I was very active from this rig on HF, some of you may have my QSL, MW0BRO/MM. I finished on this rig in 1999 and after a few short term jobs on other rigs once again I was the successful candidate for the position of Radio Operator on a brand new Exxon Mobil platform offshore Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea. I worked onboard Jade for two years signing 3C5J and was then transferred to a new project onboard the FPU Zafiro Producer, in the same oil field. Due to an increased work load I have not yet been very active from the 'ZP' but this will be rectified shortly. |
