QSL QSL QSL

All QSL cards have now been replied to. Some cards may still be in the buro system if
you did not QSL direct but they should filter through very soon. If you have not received
a direct QSL by now then it's either because I have not received your QSL card or it
was received without return postage / IRC or an IRC that was not correctly stamped
and was refused by my local post office.

I am no longer active from 3C but may return to the bands this summer - 2003

Welcome to the website of 3C5J. I've set up this site to provide information on my operations from Equatorial Guinea. In December of 2001 I left the Jade platform to start work on the FPU Zafiro Producer.

The 'ZP' is a converted oil tanker designed to pump the oil from the reservoir into 'export tankers' which then take the oil away from the field. The ZP is fixed in one position and cannot move anywhere.

If you follow any of the many DX news sheets / online websites you'll know that a lot of people have their own opinions on whether I am in Equatorial Guinea or not. Whilst onboard Jade I was not /MM, but at the same time contacts with me did not count towards DXCC awards.

The ZP was once a tanker but, like the Jade it's now in a fixed position and cannot move anywhere.

Suffice to say I am not a pirate, I am using a legitimate 3C callsign that took a lot of effort to obtain and I really enjoy my time on the radio trying to please all stations on as many bands as possible but, as is often the case for a DX station, failing miserably.

I hope you enjoy the site. Please use the menu on the left to navigate through the site, the last link will take you to my main site which is geared towards how to get a job on an oil rig.
